The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams held a television interview with ATV Aruba outlining the importance of the her representation of St. Maarten at the Rio+20 Summit on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. During her interview the Prime Minister mentioned that the summit is or particular importance to St. Maarten in light of the fact that the island is very vulnerable to environmental changes both locally and globally due to Climate Change. "We are a tourism based economy and thus we are very vulnerable to various factors concerning both our local and global environment. That is why it is so essential that we address issues of sustainable development and environmental awareness on our island Nation," commented the Prime Minister.
