Outages on our Network

Over the weekend St. Maarten Cable TV experienced several outages that affected all the services in all areas for several hours. "Late Saturday evening to early Sunday morning, our team was able to isolate the problem to a faulty main breaker at our main distribution site and had a temporary solution in place by 2:00 am on Sunday morning", Beulah Jonis, Managing Director St. Maarten Cable TV informed. In order to have this faulty breaker replaced, the system will be taken off at 12:00 midnight to 2:00 a.m. on June 5th.

The area of Cole Bay and Cay Bay had additional outages last weekend as well which was also electrical related but on the outside plant. Burned equipment have been replaced several times over a two day period. In addition we had a situation in Cay Bay on Saturday that complicated and delayed our repairs on our outside plant in that area even more since one of our electricity unit was tampered with causing for our equipment to lose power resulting in our service to several areas to be disrupted. This problem in Cay Bay related to tampering of our electricity supply caused outages in the area of Cay bay, part of Cole Bay, Pelican, Simpson Bay, Beacon Hill, Maho and Lowlands area. Relevant information has been passed on to the relevant establishments and authorities since this is now a punishable act.
