On Monday May 28th at approximately 03.00 p.m. the Central Police Dispatch directed a 0- tolerance police patrol to Gladiola road where two young men were busy breaking into a home.
The caller had given the Central Dispatch a complete description of the suspects and also told them that the suspects had fled the scene and ran in the direction of the Coralita road. While going to the scene, the investigating patrol saw two young men that fit the description of the suspects perfectly stepping into a bus. They also noticed that these young men were breathing and perspiring quite heavily. The bus was stopped and both suspects were told to exit the bus, which they did. When the suspects were questioned to where they were before catching the bus, neither could give an acceptable answer. Both suspects with initials J.J. (17) from Sint Maarten and M.C. (19) from Jamaica were arrested on the spot and taken to the Philipsburg Police Station for further investigation. At the Police Station, where the victim of the break-in had already arrived, recognized both suspects as the same persons who had committed the break-in. Both suspects were handed over to the Detective department for further investigation.
