Prime Minister Wescot-Williams attends VOOC Spelling Bee

On Sunday the 27th of May The Honorable Prime Minister of St. Maarten Sarah Wescot-Williams attended the first annual Voice of our children spelling bee. The Spelling Bee, held at the Philipsburg Cultural and Community Center, was the first such event for St. Maarten; the Prime Minister, who addressed the gathering, commented that "spelling bees have been held in different countries for decades and in some cases for hundreds of years and I am proud to be addressing you at the first annual spelling bee for country St. Maarten."

The Prime Minister also stated "our children are our future and hopefully next year will be just as successfully as this year and we will continue to see the Spelling Bee grow in the years to come," said the Prime Minister.  The Prime Minister concluded by congratulating the Voice of Our Children and the organizers for this event. It is during events like these that showcase the talent of our youth," concluded Wescot-Williams.
