With a monetary contribution towards t-shirts, UTS has pledged its support toward the nurses of St. Maarten during the annual Nurses Week Celebration. This week will be celebrated this year from May 6-12 under the theme CLOSING THE GAP: FROM EVIDENCE TO ACTION.
Among the many activities planned for the week is the annual torch march, which will be held on Monday, May 7th. The t-shirts contributed by UTS will be worn during this march, exhibiting the theme of this year. The goal of the St. Maarten Nurses Association is to enhance nursing on St. Maarten through education and promotion of health for the general population and nursing personnel in general. ‘We fully support the proactive stance the nursing association takes in ensuring the level of health in our community.’ Says UTS Marketing & Communication Officer, Ivy Lambert. ‘ A lot of ailments can be prevented and treated at home with simple household remedies. The key is making people aware what the most effective treatment or preventative measures are. We are happy to support and association that has set this very important task as their goal.’
