Students of the St. Maarten Academy were "very interested" in future employment in St. Maarten’s "Total-Service" telecommunication provider TelEm Group – it was revealed during a school job fair Wednesday.
The Job Fair was organized at the St. Maarten Academy’s Ebenezer Campus, for third and fourth grade students seeking advice on future careers.
According to TelEm Group’s Training & Productivity Specialist, Ms. Kathren van Putten, many of the students attending the Job Fair were so interested in TelEm Group as a future employer that some of the most enterprising of them came forward with resumes in hand and many filled out applications there and then for Summer jobs.
"The students came well prepared and understand that the job market is getting very competitive and they therefore have to make their decisions early," said Ms. Van Putten.
She said representatives from TelEm Group’s Marketing, Sales, Technical, Corporate and Human Resources Departments provided the students with all the information they needed about the company and the different career possibilities in TelEm Group.
"We are very pleased with the fact that the students know a lot about the company and the products and services that are offered. We are especially pleased that they see the company as one that they can seek a future career in," said Ms. Van Putten.
