SCI is the approved learning partner of the Edinburgh Business School (EBS), the largest and one of the best MBA programs in the world. Signing the memorandum of understanding on Friday behalf of USM was President Mrs. Annelies van den Assem and on behalf of SCI –EBS, Director Education & Training of SCI Mr. Andrew Forson.

After the signing, there was an information-session, by Andrew Forson, where over 30 people showed a genuine interest in pursuing an MBA degree through this prestigious program. The prospective students were informed about all aspects of the program.

"It was made very clear to them that completing this MBA should not be taken lightly. It involves self-motivation, determination, persistence and, of course, much brain power," says USM Business Division Head Erwin Wolthuis.

He adds that the program offered by SCI-EBS, in conjunction with USM, differs from other online providers of MBA programs, in many ways.

"Each on-line course also has a week of actual classes, hosted at USM, where the professor involved will be flown in. In addition, students have the possibility to ask questions to their professors on a daily basis, while exam training seminars will also be organized at USM in order to increase the chances of success for each student," Wolthuis notes.

The first course for the 2012 MBA program will be in Economics and is scheduled to start in April 2012. The USM Business Division Head adds that USM will also become the official exam-centre for EBS in the North-East Caribbean; making the whole process really efficient for students on the island.

SCI-EBS representatives are still on the island and persons who are interested in the MBA program can contact them by sending an e-mail to register@sci1st.com. As of next week registration forms and procedural instructions will also be available at USM’s Student Service Center.
