On Monday, August 8th 13 recruits who have recently started the course to become full fledged police officers, left for Curacao where another part of this course will be given.
Inspector Kethura Brown who has been appointed as “class guardian” will meet the class at the airportin Curacao. After their arrival in Curacao they will be taken to the military-base in Suffisant where they will be housed and where that part of their training will take place. The recruits are expected to be back in Sint Maarten at the end of September early October. In St.Maarten the continuation of training, which is the largest part of the training, will take place.
At the airport, family-members of the recruits that were on hand, took pictures, hugged and kissed the recruits farewell. Words of encouragement on behalf of the Chief of Police Peter de Witte, who could not be at the airport was given by the Police Spokesman Ricardo Henson. The recruits then departed for Curacao.
