Continous Effort To Help Clean Reefs at Marriott Curacao Beach Resort
On 24 Feb 2011, a contingent of U.S. Forward Operation Location (USFOL) personnel donated their time to an incredible effort to help clean local reefs near the Marriott Curaçao Beach Resort.
The men and women of the U.S. FOL celebrated the rich treasure that is Curaçao’s natural reef. They regularly work with the community to help protect its unique natural resources and underwater environment, benefitting both residents and tourists alike.
U.S. Consul General Valerie Belon said "The debris in and around Curaçao’s otherwise beautiful reef system is unfortunate. Keeping this natural resource as pristine as possible is a shared responsibility of all citizens and residents of the island. That is why the USFOL community relations project volunteers have dedicated countless hours on numerous days of reef clean-up programs to do their part."
The U.S. FOL personnel have been long-time advocates for the local community and this was yet another outstanding effort to promote a continued healthy environment and well-being for the citizens and habitat of Curaçao.
