President of Parliament Drs. Gracita Arrindell announces that the Central Committee of Parliament will be meeting on Tuesday, November 23 at 3.00pm in the A.C. Wathey Legislative Hall.
During the public Central Committee meeting, Members of Parliament (MPs) will discuss the Parliament of Sint Maarten becoming a member of the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino). The former Netherlands Antilles parliament was a member of Parlatino.
MPs will also deliberate which Parlatino sub-committees the Parliament of Sint Maarten should have representation.
The Latin American Parliament is a regional organization composed by the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. It was created in 1964.
The parliament of Sint Maarten will meet in public session on Wednesday, November 24 at 2.00pm in the A.C. Wathey Legislative Hall.
The four parliamentary factions, namely the United Peoples party (UP), Democratic Party (DP), Independent Member of Parliament Patrick Illidge and the National Alliance (NA), will receive the advice that has been drafted for the nomination of the interim parliament clerk as well as an advice proposal for the nomination of an interim deputy parliament clerk.
MPs will also handle the advice that has been prepared for the Parliament of Sint Maarten to become a member of Parlatino as well as membership in several Parlatino sub-committees.
Incoming documents will be the first order of business that parliament will handle on Wednesday afternoon.
