On Friday at 09.15 a.m. five members of the Royal Marechausse who have been sent to Sint Maarten to assist the Police Force of Sint Maarten were sworn in.
The oath of these officers were taken by the Minister of Justice for Country Sint Maarten Mr. Roland Duncan, in the presence of the Chief of Police Chief Commissioner Peter de Witte, Secretary General Ligia Stella, Chief Public Prosecutor Hans Mos, Commander of the Marechausse Jan Ploegstra, and head of the Judicial Department Chief Inspector Denise van Geertruij-Jakobs.
The officers in question will be working in the Detective Department and directly under the leadership on the Sint Maarten Police force.
After the swearing-in of the officers the Minister of Justice and the Chief of Police congratulated them and gave them a warm and hearty welcome and told them to be looking forward to fruitful working relationship.
The names of these officers are: Eric Wagenmakers, Jan Hendrik Steenge, Robert Jan Bakker, Klaas Rollema, Lana Martiene Coenradie.
