TU Delft has been working on this project for years and the students are very successful. They are participating with the biennial World Solar Challenge that is to be held in Australia. Nuna has won every edition since 2001. This November, a group of students will be leaving for Australia – with Nuna 6 – to participate with the next Challenge.
As leader of the team Nuna 5, Rein van der Eijnde participated with the Challenge last year. He will be coming to Aruba this month together with three other students to attend Green Aruba. According to Van der Eijnde, Aruba has ‘the ideal sun to demonstrate Nuna’. The team will be giving a demonstration as to what Nuna is and capable of. Of course, the students will also answer questions and share their knowledge and experiences.
In the meantime, the vehicle is already on the boat and is expected to arrive on Aruba during the course of next week. The Nuna-project costs approximately 1 million Euros and made possible by means of various donations.
