In connection with several ongoing investigations by the Detective Department and based on very important information provided by some very concerned citizens in the Down Street area, two houses were searched by police and Detectives on Thursday afternoon.
During these searches which took place in the presence of the Acting Judge and the Chief Public Prosecutor, a sawed-off shotgun, a revolver, two cars, several scooters, motorcycles, flat screen televisions and many other electrical appliances and some cash were confiscated. Four persons were arrested during these searches. Their initials are C.R., R.
St.J., A.T., and G.C. The suspects are all from Sint Maarten. They were all taken to the police department and turned over to the detective department for further investigation. This case is in its early stages. There is much work to be done on these cases.
The police department want to commend those concerned citizens who have provided the necessary information to the police to get this investigation of the ground. Without there input this would not have been possible.
