In connection with the ongoing general controls that are presently taking place on the island the police dept. would like to inform the public the results of the first day of controls which took place in the Sint Peters, Suckergarden, Cay Hill, Cole bay and Churchill areas.
The focus was mainly to control business licenses, vendors on the public roads, controls near school areas, for public order and safety. A total of 31 businesses were checked of which 10 of them were closed because their permits were not in order. A total of 36 persons were stopped and checked, 5 of which are residing illegally on the island. 23 vehicles checked.
