On July 28th 2010, Leader of Government Mr.William Marlin, called an urgent meeting with the media to discuss some matters that needed to be dealt with.
The following are highlights of the issues that were brought forward during the meeting with Mr.Marlin:
- The issue of Mr.Roy Marlin’s daughter not receiving a scholarship to further her studies
- He touched on the way the DP is going on about their business
- He made it offical that Country St.Maarten will use the Dutch Caribbean Guilder
- He spoke of the issues that took place during the last ICM on July 26th 2010
- He made it known that an agreement was reached between the support staff & the housing foundation on the issues with their bills
- He also stated that he met with the Minister of Justice Ms.Magali Jacoba in which an agreement was reached on the Brooks Towers Accord Category 1 for the residents permit to be issued for 3 years, but the Government has still to sign it off.
