WILLEMSTAD — By the name ‘Mega project B23’ one is working on a new political organization that should provide the new country Curaçao with a ‘dynamic and effective governmental apparatus’ per October 10th, next – which is only in about five months’ time.

The Deputy subsequently signed the financing of this project together with colleague Anthony Godett (Infrastructure, FOL), Representative of the Netherlands in the Netherlands Antilles, Rob Vermaas, and director Reginaldo Doran of the Implementation Organ Institute Development Netherlands Antilles (Usona).
Mega project B23 will take three years and cost 35 million guilders in total. Curaçao will be paying 20 million guilders of aforementioned amount, while the Dutch funds in the framework of Social-Economical Initiatives (SEI’s) will cover the remaining amount – under management of Usona.
One of the thirteen projects of the Mega project B23 regards a correct placement of all government officials on Curaçao as well as all island officials of the island territory Curaçao in the new organization of the country Curaçao.
Other projects are amongst others targeted towards developing the necessary expertise and the realization of the desired culture change among the governmental servants. Attention will also be paid to housing, which should be suitably furnished and client-friendly.
A few B23-projects are already in progress, such as drawing up business plans for the nine ministries, which the country Curaçao will have. The plans and drafts have been forwarded to the Board of Governors for final approval.
