Deputy Humphrey Davelaar (PNP) said that he had requested an investigation last Sunday evening. He further states to having information that CPA had had a ship held under arrest in the harbor for further investigation.
Davelaar could not say what kind of a ship it concerned. He could also not confirm whether a compliant was filed with the Public Prosecutor. Yesterday morning, the Deputy was occupied in connection with an Island Council meeting. In a reaction, Capella said he was now abroad but would arrive on Curaçao this afternoon. He said he could not confirm yet whether the illegal distribution had actually taken place. Curoil has a monopolistic position on the market regarding fuel distribution, which makes any other form of fuel distribution on Curaçao illegal.
