The St. Maarten Volleyball Association will be organizing a grand Veteran’s Volleyball Tournament from August 19 – 22, 2009. This tournament is catering to all active and retired volleyball players 45 years and older. So if you became 45 on or before August 1st 2009 you are eligible to participate.
Teams who are interested and individual persons are encouraged to register before the 14th of August 2009. Registration can be obtained by the secretary of the association Miss Paula Gordon who can be contacted at 5220757 or at sxmvball@live.com.
Each team must consist of a minimum of six with a maximum of eight players of which two must be women. During the match there must always be at least one woman on the court.
Individuals who registered will be assigned to a team by the SIMVA.
After the registration deadline of a meeting will be held with all team representatives and individual registrants on Monday August 17th 2009 at which time the competition format, competition schedule and other items will be addressed.
Come out and show the world that you can still play volleyball and still have skills. Let show that younger generation that you still have what it needs to play volleyball, that’s experience. Come lets have fun and bring back the good old days. Games start at 7p.m. on each night. See you there!
