Kids can produce their own short movie
The majority of the total of 46 kids and youngsters received their certificate as a token that they have learned during the summer vacation how to make their own short movie. This project, an initiative of the Minister of Telecommunications Maurice Adriaens and Bureau Telecommunicatie en Post on all five islands of the Netherlands Antilles, was executed by the No Kidding with our Kids Foundation on Sint Maarten.
Own short movie
During the summer camp, the film production professionals Ricardo William, Ruby Pierre-Louis and Laura Bijnsdorp taught the participants how to make their own short movie, edit it and finalize it. With their film productions the participants will now participate in a short movie competition, which is an integral part of the summer camp. The kids and youngsters, who participated in the summer camp, will now compete against each other for prizes in the telecommunication field.
Symbolic DVD
During the closing ceremony of the summer camp, the director of Bureau Telecommunicatie en Post, Mr. Joao de Canha, received a symbolic DVD with all short movies that will form part of the competition.
Telecom companies
The summer camp was largely supported by the telecom sector on Sint Maarten that contributed in various forms to the success of the project. UTS, Telem Group of Companies and Sint Maarten Cable TV all sustained the summer camp.
