The annual school bus inspection by the Department of Control, Inspection, and Security (CIB) will commence on July 21 and end on July 23, 2009.
At this inspection CIB will only be inspecting school busses that operate for the Island government. The main goal for CIB with regards to school bussing is to ensure that the vehicles which transport school children are safe, comfortable, and reliable.
All school busses are expected to be inspected during these days. Any bus not meeting the safety standards of the traffic ordinances will not be granted permission or compensation to transport school children in the future.
School Bus operators, drivers, or help-drivers must schedule an appointment for the inspection of the bus as soon as possible.

The Inspection will be done by the traffic Inspectors, who will examine the breaks, lights, first aid kit, and other mechanical structures. The Inspectors will also inspect the seating, making sure the chairs are in good condition with proper cushioning, etc.
The inspection will take place at the Jose Lake Sr. Ball Park from 8:30 am -12 noon, and 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm.
At this point in time, seeing the completion of the school year and the starting of another, CIB will be focusing on school busses. Public busses are also subject to inspection, which is carried out throughout the year.
