Spokesman for the Aruba Day celebration on Saba Mr. Cornelius Richardson announced that this year once again his committee will be organizing and celebrating Aruba Day on Saba.
Aruba Day will be on March 18th 2009.
This will be the second time that Aruba Day will be celebrated on Saba and it is expected that the many persons born on Aruba and residing on Saba will come out in full force to pay special tribute to their island. It has become common practice on Saba that even those that has lived on Aruba over the years will also join in to make the day a pleasant one. There are many Sabans that has lived on Aruba either for schooling or working there, and they are all participating in the events Mr. Richardson said. There are still many Sabans working and living respectively on Aruba.
The event will be held on Sunday, March 22nd 2009. Richardson also announced that he has been receiving the full support of the Chuchubi Organization on St. Maarten and a large delegation from St. Maarten is expected to also travel to Saba to celebrate the day with their compatriots from Aruba.
A bingo drive and a raffle is presently being planned in order to raise funds to make the celebration a great success on Saba.
Richardson said that his committee is looking forward in hosting this event on Saba and he is counting on the support of the many Sabans to also be a part of the event. We will be having some of the Aruban dishes for the public to sample.
Mr. Richardson is presently on Aruba for that islands 55th carnival anniversary and is expected back on the island shortly and while there he has has been making the necessary contacts in order to make the celebration on Saba great.
