On Tuesday afternoon the 1st Vice President of Parliament Hon. Member of Parliament (MP) Romain Laville, met with the Chairman of the Social Economic Council (SER) Rene Richardson.
The purpose of the meeting was for the SER to present its first advice for the year to Parliament on the draft initiative ordinance on elimination of the abuse of temporary labor contracts as requested by letter dated June 29, 2012.
The request for the advice was discussed in a SER meeting on August 23, 2012. The advice was discussed and approved unanimously on August 30 and September 13, 2012.
The draft initiative ordinance on elimination of the abuse of temporary labour contracts was submitted to Parliament by the National Alliance (NA) faction on June 6, 2012.
Also sitting in on the meeting was Arjen Alberts, Senior Policy Advisor to the SER and Acting Secretary General of Parliament Nancy Joubert.
