On Saturday August 01.00 a.m. the lady with initials H.S. arrived at the Simpson Bay police station and reported to have been robbed of her handbag. She stated that she and a friend were walking from the McDonalds restaurant towards the Royal Palm Hotel when suddenly two cars stopped next to them. An unknown man jumped out of the one of the cars with a knife in his hand. The suspect injured the victim with this weapon in her head and pulled her handbag containing personal items away from her. After committing this act he jumped back in the car and drove off. The victim was treated by paramedics at the police station and then transported to the Sint Maarten Medical center for further treatment. The Special Robbery Unit is investigating this case.
