GEBE launches retooled website packed with new features

GEBE recently launched its new website with a short presentation and demonstration to GEBE staff. "The website is designed with the client in mind and is geared towards providing all information about GEBE that a client would need," said Commercial Manager Steve Duzanson. Some of the new features added from the original design are:

Power Watch Tool
This application will graphically display any major area or district that has an outage. The affected district is projected on to the map of St. Maarten in bright red. Clients can easily see if their area is affected or not.

Energy Calculator Tool
The Energy Calculator tool allows clients to calculate how much electricity an appliance is using and how much it will cost in a year, making it easy to see how much energy saving appliances contribute towards your electricity bill savings. The most common appliances are prelisted. All the client needs to do is select the appliance, enter how many times a day the appliance is used and press calculate. "This tool allows clients to make responsible choices when using or purchasing an appliance," explained Cherryl Lambooy, GEBE Corporate Communication Officer.

How to Video
Many clients still struggle to understand their monthly GEBE bill. To help them, GEBE has created a simple "How to" video that explains the electricity bill in a few simple steps.

Kids Section
Also new on GEBE’s website is a section especially for kids. This is a section aimed at providing information on safety, renewable energy and energy saving tips. With downloadable coloring pages, jokes, and energy saving videos, this section is educational and a useful resource for school projects.

GEBE’s website has a simplified structure that is easy to navigate and find information. There are links to GEBE’s Facebook and Twitter page, as well as where you can go to sign up for eBilling or GEBE’s popular SMS service. "The SMS service has grown by leaps and bounds", explained Mr. Duzanson. Using the motto ‘Keeping you Current’, the SMS service sends a text message to the client when his or her district is being effected by a power outage.

"We want www.nvgebe.com to be the primary source of all information pertaining to GEBE. With News announcements, the Power Watch Tool and on the other information available on the site, we think we have taken a small step in the right direction," explained Steve Duzanson, GEBE Commercial manager. "A special thinks goes out to all those who have contributed to making this new site a success".

"The new GEBE website is developed on a platform that is easy to maintain, allows for clean URLs and SEO optimization," said Ruud Stomps, WSI Internet Marketing Consultant.
