In connection with the Carnival Season and mainly the upcoming jump-up and Carnival parades, the Police Department and the Department of Safety Inspections as part of their safety policy is informing the general public of following:
The placing of scaffolding, stages, flatbeds, trailer beds etc. on or along- side the public roads are prohibited without a written permit from the Lt. Governor.
Numerous stages, flatbeds, trailer beds etc. have been placed along side the public roads and mainly on route of the jump-ups and carnival parades.
For this reason on Thursday April 22nd starting from 04.00 p.m., the members of Police Dept. and Safety Inspection Department will be controlling all sites where these objects are placed.
1. To make sure that those objects have a permit to be placed on the public road and on that particular site.
2. For that object to be inspected on safety issues.
If these objects do not meet the required safety regulations, the permit-holder will get the opportunity to have this fixed.
All persons/ organizations who have placed or constructed any of these objects along-side the public road and do not have the necessary permit to do so are kindly asked to have these objects immediately removed and to request a written permit from the Lt. Governor.
The Police Dept. and Safety Inspection Department are therefore requesting all permit-holders to be at the site where their structures, flatbeds, trailer beds are placed on Thursday April 22nd starting from 04.00 p.m. to show their proof of permit and to undergo a safety inspection.
