The Federation Antillean Youth Care (FAJ) and the St. Maarten Youth Council Association organized an information session on Tuesday, March 2nd 2010 at the Rupert I Maynard Youth Community Center in St. Peters, as to the new laws, regulations and requirements for Foundations and Associations.
Representatives from a cross section of Foundations and Associations attended the information session and they had several questions, which they had hoped to receive answers too.
Unfortunately this was not possible because neither representatives of the St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce nor the Tax Inspectorate attended the session as was scheduled.
The evening, however, was still used to review the laws and to exchange interpretation of the laws. This re-enforced the need for organizations to receive clarity on these laws.
Another meeting is therefore scheduled for March 16th at 7:30pm at the Rupert Maynard Youth Community Center in St. Peters.
