Commissioner Mr. William Marlin attends the 3rd Anniversary of the New Status Day for Saint-Martin

Dec. 7 th 2009 was the 3rd Anniversary of the New Status Day for Saint-Martin.The day was commemorated with a short ceremony at the gardens of the Collectivite, which began around 6 P.M.

Dececember 7 th 2009, was the 3rd Anniversary of the New Status Day for Saint-Martin.The day was commemorated with a short ceremony at the gardens of the Collectivite, which began around 6 P.M.

The ceremony opened with the singing of the French anthem "La Marseillaise",followed by the Saint-Martin/St. Maarten song,"O Sweet Saint-Martin, Land".

Speaker for the evening was Mr. Gael Gombs, President of the Youth Council. President of the Collectivite Mr. Frantz Gumbs, General Secretary of the Prefecture des i’les du Nord also were present and gave a presentation for the special occasion.

During the 2nd part of the evenings programs was the presentation of the Soualigua Awards of Hommage and Merith, Biography of Mr. Paines was presented by Mr. Joel Hamlet. The award was Presented to Mr. Emmauel Paines, by Mr. Albert Adams.

The 2nd award was in honor of "Nono" Richardson. His biography was presented by Miss Joy Carti.

The daughter of Mr.Nono Richardson, Ms. Rossette Richardson received the award on behalf of her deceased father, witnessed by his nephew Mr. Marius Froston.
