 Minister Eurlings visited the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba

Minister Camiel Eurlings of Traffic and Water Management visited the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba from 1st to 8th June. The theme of this visit will be the cooperation with the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba and the consequences of the future political relations in the policy fields of Traffic and Water Management. The Minister visited Curaçao, Bonaire, Aruba, St. Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius.

The object of the visit is to make agreements with regard to continuation of cooperation in a number of policy fields of Traffic and Water Management: aviation, maritime issues, water, meteorology and seismology. Curaçao and St. Maarten will become countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands; the BES islands (Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba) will become parts of the Netherlands.

On Monday, June 2 Minister Eurlings payed a visit to the Coast Guard of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles Air Traffic Control.

In Bonaire the Minister visited Flamingo Airport and the cruise and cargo terminal in the harbour of Kralendijk during the morning hours on Tuesday, June 3.

On Wednesday, June 4 the Minister visited Aruba.

On Thursday, June 5, Minister Eurlings visited, among other things, the Island Executive Council, the cruise and cargo terminal and airport Princess Juliana in St. Maarten.

On Friday morning, June 6, Minister Eurlings talked with the Island Executive Council in Saba about the development of the airport.
