The Philipsburg Jubilee Library and Rotary Sunrise Club presents a "Readers are Leaders: Black History Month Poetry and Drama Evening.
Under the Theme: "The Fight for Freedom"
Students from Milton Peters College, St. Maarten Academy, and St. Dominic High school will express their opinions via poetry and drama; concentrating on some individual from the Caribbean who fought against Slavery.
Nanny- Jamaica, Enriquillo -Dominican Republic, Toussaint – L’ Ouverture –Haiti, Antonio Maceo-Cuba, Louis Delgres- Guadeloupe , and One Tete Lohkay of St. Maarten.
It will also be a fun filled evening of entertainment by Dance Theater of St. Maarten, Chrome Tone and "Stretch" the poet.
This event is taking place at the Philipsburg Cultural Center on Back Street on Wednesday the 23rd February 2011. Time: 6.30 pm to 8pm
