Engelberto Oduber celebrates 30-years of service at GEBE
Engelberto Oduber was recognized by GEBE management recently for 30-years of service with the company.
Oduber was one of the first students to start and graduate from Milton Peters College (MPC) with an LTS diploma in 1978.
Oduber has grown with the company over the past three decades from when he first started working at the age of 17 when GEBE’s total electrical production output was only seven megawatts compared to today’s installed capacity of 72 megawatts.
Oduber is a professional mechanic at GEBE responsible for overhauling and the maintenance of the heavy duty electrical production units at the Cay Bay Power Plant.
"I am honored to recognize one of the company’s experienced professionals who have clocked 30-years at the company and serving the community of St. Maarten.
"The management and staff thanks Oduber for his long-time service with GEBE and we look forward to his continued commitment, dedication and hard work that he has always displayed since he joined the company 30-years ago.
"As a professional mechanic, he is not only a role model for those within the company, but also the young people on the island who are considering a career in engineering," GEBE Managing Director William Brooks stated on Wednesday.
