Upon further investigation, it appeared to be the ‘Mis Hijos’ from Venezuela. A team from the Coastguard entered the vessel and concluded that the anglers did not a permit to fish in this zone. Moreover, the crew had already caught several sharks. The Coastguard escorted the boat to Barcadera where a report was made on the offence. After consultation with the officer of Justice, a 1350 florin fine was imposed. This amount was to be paid before the ‘Mis Hijos’ and its crew were allowed to leave again. The catch was confiscated.
