Tuesday September 7, 2010 the Faraja Centre for development and enhancement of the clients of the foundation received a generous check from the representatives of the "Samenwerkende Fondsen" Mr. Matthias Voges, Richard Gibson and Mr. Peterson.
The foundation had submitted a project dossier to be able to sent the staff of the Faraja Centre to Curaçao for training purposes and to further professionalize themselves in guidance and treatment of the clients.
The amount received is Naf. 14.240,00 and will commence in October. Two staff members at a time will go to Curaçao for 3 weeks each to work there with colleagues in Sonrisa and SAIB that caters to the same type of care that the Centre does.
The idea of the project is to get acquainted with the different approaches and treatment methods and hopefully St. Maarten can continue to exchange knowledge with more organizations in the future.
The Mental Health Foundation thanks the Board of the "Samenwerkende Fondsen" for their support of this first initiative and is grateful to be given this opportunity.
