On Wednesday August 25th at approximately 08.40 p.m. several police patrols and Detectives were sent to Madrid Drive in Dutch Quarter for a shooting incident. On the scene the investigating officers encountered the victim with the initials A.S. 37 years old from Jamaica lying on the street. The victim was bleeding from gun shot wounds to both legs.
One in the left leg and three in the right leg. A.S. stated that he was approached by three unknown masked men. These men threatened his life and when he tried to run away he was shot by one of these men in both legs and could not continue running. After committing this act the suspect ran away. The victim was transported to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for treatment. He was operated on and then admitted for observation. This case is still under investigation by the Detective and Forensic department to determine what exactly happened and why.
