This is the third area to be tacked by TelEm Group Technicians and Engineers following the successful transfer of lines in the Dawn Beach and Ebenezer areas during the past week.

So far operations have gone as planned with some minor problems as they relate to the reconnection of DSL internet accounts.

According to Project Manager, Mr. Kenneth Blijden, the cutover continues to progress well with only a few minor glitches.

"Where we have come across some bottlenecks we have dealt with them on the spot so that customer lines can be reconnected in the quickest possible time," said Mr. Blijden.

He said in the two operations already completed, the reconnection issues have mainly involved DSL connections and reconfiguring of DSL customer accounts.

"Anyone who still has a problem once the period of the cutover is completed and especially if it is a DSL problem, should call our Helpline (Tel: 546-9999) to report their number and state the problem so that we can begin troubleshooting right away," continued Mr. Blijden.

He said the cutovers will shortly be focussed on the more densely populated areas of Simpson and Cole Bay where thousands of customers will be transferred together.

Mr. Blijden has noted that in the case of Simpson Bay, a decision was taken among the work team to push back the work scheduled for Saturday night/Sunday Morning in that area to Sunday nigh/Monday morning instead.

"We thought it was necessary to do this so that a high commercial area is not without telecommunication services on a busy Saturday night and especially since the nature of the work will mean that credit card checking services will be temporarily affected," said Mr. Blijden.
