"We are convinced that – although constitutionally our islands will soon get more on their own and formally separated – our people and businesses are and will become even more interested in the commercial and economic developments and changes of the different communities," states Michael ‘Mike’ Willemse (44), Publisher & Managing Director, who in May 2008 acquired Antilliaans Dagblad in Curaçao. "Commercially and economically for sure, with many companies active in two or more islands. Basically we have to deal with the same challenges and we can and should learn from each other’s solutions. The essential daily news published in the Antilliaans Dagblad and De Telegraaf will help bridge that information gap," says Willemse.

De Telegraaf is the largest Dutch daily morning newspaper, with a daily circulation of approximately 700,000. De Telegraaf is based in Amsterdam. The Caribbean version offered to the Dutch islands is printed in Curaçao and distributed among the islands keeping everyone in touch and informed with the same fresh daily Dutch news as it is also published in The Netherlands.

The Antilliaans Dagblad is the only local Dutch Antillean morning newspaper published every day for Curaçao, Bonaire and recently also in Aruba, which is soon to include St. Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius. The editorial is based in Willemstad, Curaçao. The Antilliaans Dagblad publishes since December 1, 2003, as the succesor of the Caribbean edition of the Algemeen Dagblad. "Antilliaans Dagblad focuses on ‘serious’ news, relevant for our local communities; nothing sensational – no blood, or accidents on the front page – but quality information," says Publisher Willemse, who was born in Curaçao and has twenty years of experience in journalism in Holland, Aruba and Curaçao.

"IMC is pleased to serve as the official local agent, and close the 8000+ kilometer gap between the St. Maarten market and the Netherlands. In addition, with the impending changes from 10-10-10 it will be essential to remain inter-connected with relevant and timely daily news among Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao, as well as, St. Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius," says May-Ling Chun, Managing Director of IMC.
