On November 17 and 18, 2026, the governments of Aruba, Curaçao, the Netherlands, and Sint Maarten will meet for the first “Kingdom Summit” on Sint Maarten. The Kingdom Summit is an administrative consultation between the governments of the autonomous countries of the Kingdom. The Summit focuses on strengthening cooperation between the four countries of the Kingdom.
During the Kingdom Summit, each country delivers its own “State of the Nation,” in which the premiers reflect on, among other things, their country’s successes and challenges, and highlight policy areas where new or closer cooperation is possible.
Cooperation is of essential importance for a future-proof Kingdom. Mutual respect for each other’s position, mutual connection, and the willingness to support one another are important pillars of that cooperation. This Kingdom Summit offers the opportunity to strengthen and deepen the ties between the governments. In addition, the four countries aim for greater continuity and cohesion in the periodic consultations between the governments.
Prime Minister of Sint Maarten, Dr. Luc Mercelina: “Sint Maarten looks forward to welcoming the governments of Aruba, Curaçao, and the Netherlands to this first Kingdom Summit. By working together while simultaneously acknowledging our differences, we are building a stronger and future-proof Kingdom.”
