Launch of the Unite in Care Labour Market PlatformTogether for Care in the Caribbean Netherlands

During the Caribbean Netherlands Healthcare Conference, the new labour market platform
Unite in Care was officially launched on 11 June 2026. The platform, available at
www.uniteincare.com, brings together employers, employees and job seekers within the
healthcare and social care sector in the Caribbean Netherlands.
The launch took place during the Caribbean Netherlands Healthcare Conference on Bonaire,
organised by Caribbean Netherlands Healthcare and Youth Care (ZJCN), part of the Dutch
Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS). Under the motto “Together for Care in the
Caribbean Netherlands”, Unite in Care marks an important step in strengthening the labour
market for the healthcare and social care sector on Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba.
One Central Platform for the Healthcare Sector
Unite in Care is a joint initiative of the social partners of the BES Healthcare Collective
Labour Agreement (CAO Zorg BES). The platform provides one central place for vacancies,
labour market information, training opportunities, employment conditions and developments
within the healthcare and social care sector on Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba.
Stronger Together for Better Healthcare
Within Unite in Care, healthcare organisations and trade unions across the BES islands work
together towards one shared goal: stronger together for better healthcare.
The participating organisations are Saba Cares Foundation, Sint Eustatius Health Care
Foundation, Sint Eustatius Auxiliary Home Foundation, Fundashon Mariadal, Mental Health
Caribbean, Primary Care Caribbean and ZW Groep.
Connecting and Strengthening
The healthcare sector in the Caribbean Netherlands faces important challenges related to
staffing, recruitment, employee retention and sustainable employability. Unite in Care aims to
play a connecting role by promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing and the exchange of
information.
By making relevant information easily accessible and connecting stakeholders, Unite in Care
contributes to attracting, developing and retaining qualified professionals. In doing so, the
platform supports the quality, accessibility and continuity of healthcare and social care in the
Caribbean Netherlands.
