Postponement of Deadline for freemovers
S4 has offered those students travelling to the Netherlands without financial assistance of the government of St. Maarten, (so-called free-movers) packages in order for them to receive several services from S4. These free-movers, have a choice of several packages which vary in the services being offered and are priced accordingly. The services include the arrangement of accommodation prior to arrival, arrangement of insurance, and the opening of the bank-accounts as well as the reception upon arrival, and S4 mentorship programme.
During S4 preparatory course in St. Maarten, Drs. Richardson, the director of S4 stated that the students and families who want to benefit from S4 services, should pay for the packages in full by July 15, 2008. This deadline has now been extended to July 19, 2008 by 8pm (continental European standard time, which is 2 pm in St. Maarten). In the past, several free-movers have been assisted by S4 and have promised to pay for S4 services and expenses incurred on their behalf but have not done so. In view of this, S4 would like to receive all payments before the students leave for the Netherlands, and preferably by the deadline.
If S4 does not receive deposit by this time and date, all services that have been prepared thus far will be cancelled. The specifics of the packages can be found at the Department of Education. However, those who are interested should note that the costs are in Euros and range from â?¬575 for the reception week to â?¬1800 for the full package. "As with any organization, there are costs involved in providing services. The families of the free-movers should therefore cover the cost," Drs. Richardson stated.
