In conformity with the legal regulations, the final elections’ result must be announced five days after the polling day. In conformity with the official report announced during the session, 74.882 people had used their suffrage last Friday, which amounts to a turnout of 65.4 percent.
The PAR had won 26.662 votes, good for 5 seats and 1 residual seat and therefore the winner of the States-elections. The Lista di Kambio (LdK) came in second with 23.569 votes, good for four seats and one residual seat. The PS had been the big surprise on polling night with 10.785 votes, which yielded the party two seats. The last seat went to the PNP with their 6505 votes. The other parties, FOL (4.354), DP (1823), PPE (309) and MSi (195) had not obtained any seats. 510 people had given in a blank ballot paper on polling day.
From the figures announced by the Central Polling Station, there is a slight difference between the number of votes cast via the SmartMatic-voting machines and the printouts. The voting machines had shown 115 more votes than the printouts, which is a difference of 0.1533 percent. This is probably because not all of the voters had deposited the printout in the relevant ballot box.
