On Monday July 7th the White and Yellow Cross Foundation will host a lecture on the topic of Alzheimer’s disease. The lecture is especially designed for anyone on Sint Maarten living with someone who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia and is a degenerative and terminal disease for which there is no known cure. In its most common form, it afflicts individuals over 65 years old but it can also affect younger persons.
The lecture is presented by Dr. Glenn Matroos, psychiatrist. He visits Sint Maarten monthly from Curacao where he shares a clinic with other psychiatrists.
He has many years of experience caring for patients with Alzheimer’s disease.
As living with a relative who suffers from Alzheimer’s can be very trying and complicated everyone is urged to come out and attend this lecture. It will be an opportunity to share experiences, ask questions and learn new ways to deal with all the challenges that are part of this illness.
The lecture is held in the St. Martin’s Home in St. John’s Estate at 7:00 pm on Monday July 7th.
This message is coming from the St. Maarten Home.
