On Wednesday October 14th at approximatley 01.10 p.m. a nine year old girl who had just stepped out of a school bus and who was at the time crossing the street in front of the bus, was struck by a private car.
According to the statement of the driver of the car, he overtook the bus after he noticed that no one was crossing the street. The victim was struck by the right front fender of the private vehicle, with as result of the impact, she suffered a severely fractured lower left leg. She was attended to by the paramedics and then transported by ambulance to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. The police traffic dept. is investigating.
