WILLEMSTAD — The victory of opposition party AVP on Aruba implies that the Netherlands and the capital have won. The Aliansa Patriótiko (AP) states this in a reaction to the election outcome on Aruba, where the AVP had gained a majority in the Aruban States.

In particular, the AP is not pleased with the swift reaction of the Antillean government on the AVP-victory on Aruba. "As soon as the outcome was announced, our government stated that the result on Aruba would be favorable for the political developments. First of all, this announcement lacks every form of governmental ethics. Such an announcement can be made by a party, political or social organization, but never on behalf of a government. It is also not correct in view of the fact that the Aruban government had opposed the re-colonization by the Netherlands in a courageous manner."
In a press report, the AP commends the policy pursued by the MEP. "They had the courage which our governments lack. When our government now states that the political process is going well, then this implies that the team of Dutch messenger boys has been fortified. Therefore, what the Antillean government states, boils down to that the new Aruban government will submit to the Netherlands."
