WILLEMSTAD — A reputable institute, which is specialized in the calculation of pharmacists’ costs, will scrutinize the matter of the prescription regulation compensation for the Antilles, in particular as carried out on Curaçao. Parties have agreed to respect the amount determined by the institute for the compensation per prescription regulation.
"Minister Omayra Leeflang (Public Health, PAR) and Deputy Humphrey Davelaar (Public Health, PNP) immediately agreed to follow this objective course in order to finally come up with a reasonable prescription regulation compensation", Minister Ersilia de Lannooy (Finances, PNP) stated.
De Lannooy thereupon invited Chaïm el Hage of the Association Pharmacists Curaçao for a conversation in Fort Amsterdam, which Leeflang and Davelaar also joined. "As soon as the advice has been received – in two months at the most – we will consider whether there is sufficient money to follow up on this immediately. If it is not possible to finance such entirely, then we will have to come up with an adjusted solution together", the Finances-Minister said, explaining the policy.
The calling in of an independent, expert organ for an objective research resulting in a workable advice, which the government can rely on, is a tried and tested method according to De Lannooy. In this, she refers to the past lingering topics in the field of national debt, pension insurances, customs, and taxes.
