Commissioner Frans Richardson held a press conference for the signing of the Marketing Program (SEI funds) on September 1st 2009.
This is the first phase of signing, which is sponsored by USONA to make efforts in marketing in the USA. FLS 840,000 was signed on September 1st 2009 to help promote St.Maarten. Mr.Frans Richardson said it’s very important to and for St.Maarten to be included in the upcoming tourist season.
The total funds USONA had put aside amounts to $2.1 million. A group of representatives will be going to the USA to promote St.Maarten. Their main aim is in the eastern seabourne, which consists of Boston, New York, Washington & Miami.
All major online, radio, television & print media advertisers will be included in the promotion to attract the tourists to St.Maarten. Mr.Richardson said one of his aims is to have an increase of 7% in tourism for the tourist season.
