Vincentians on Saba launches Vincy Cultural Association

 

On Saturday last the Vincy Cultural Associating held their first official event on the island of Saba. It was also the official launching of the association to the community of Saba.

the association was recently established by notarial deed and the members of the association decided that they had to do something in order to introduce the association to the community in grand style.

The day started out with a barbecue at the Sunny Valley Youth Center in The Bottom followed in the evening with a smashing dance party that featured the party Crew out of St. Maarten and Dj. Davio from Saba. The party was very well attended and everyone that attended really enjoyed the party.

President of the association Ms. Margaret Child said that on behalf of the board they would like to thank the community of Saba for coming out and supporting their first activity. They would also like to express their heartfelt thanks to the following business places, My Store, Big Rock Supermarket, D & A. supermarket, J&R’s, Corner Imports and all others that contributed in making the event a smashing success.

The board of the association is as follows: Margaret Child, President, Pydana Lavia vice president, Wendy Daniel secretary, Paula Childs treasurer, Adena Ballentyne assistant Secretary, Glenroy Massiah assistant treasurer, Andy Lavia board member with responsibilities for planning of activities, Mrs. Princess Hassell board member with responsibilities for Organizational matters and Urla Deshong board member.

Plans are already in the making for the celebration of the Independence of St. Vincent and the Grenadines on October 27th 2009.
