PRESS STATEMENT
It was sad to see how the Mental Health Foundation that wants to become an accredited facility for doctors with speciality in psychiatry, has been treated, and by extension mental health persons who deal with the facility on a daily basis for their care.
When I read the papers about the issue, it was like we were dealing with the Ministry of Public Health in Curacao when we were under the Netherlands Antilles.
The facility treats over 500 patients and provides essential services to our community, and without it, persons would either have to travel to Curacao or go untreated.
Working together is the only way to resolve issues that exist between the Minister of Public Health, the Mental Health Foundation and Turning Point. Such cooperation would be most beneficial to the patients and their families.
