On Thursday and Friday September 6th & 7th representatives of Aruba, Curacao and Sint Maarten met in Aruba in preparation for the upcoming UPU congress in DOHA, Qatar.
The Sint Maarten delegation consisting of Mr. D. Richardson (PSS), Mrs. L. Richardson-Gibbs (GOV) and Ms. P. Brandon (BTP-SXM) joint colleagues from Aruba and Curacao on congress proposals which will be presented for voting during the congress.
The meetings were successful and voting positions on the numerous proposals were determined. The close cooperation established between the postal entities and regulators of Aruba, Curacao and St. Maarten, will be formalized in a cooperation agreement between parties within short. The joint aim is to assist, support and guide each other with commitments of exchange of expertise and information.
The three countries sharing one seat at the UPU, have jointly agree that this delegation will be headed by Aruba. Mr. Jaime Lacle chaired the meetings in Aruba and will be the lead the delegation into the congress as head of delegation.
The warm welcome, the setting of the meetings and the open exchange of information, visions and opinions, has set the stage for a fruitful cooperation between the three countries on postal matters.
