"Government will do everything to ensure that the island’s cultural and environmental heritage is protected"
The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams joined the various Environmental and Cultural Heritage Organizations in honoring the Birthday of Emilio Wilson at the Emilio Wilson Park on Tuesday. The Prime Minister laid a bouquet of flowers at the statue of Emilio Wilson at the Emilio Wilson Park.
Before laying the flowers at the bust of Emilio Wilson the Prime Minister stated that the people of St. Maarten can rest assured that Government will do all it can to ensure that the island’s cultural and natural heritage will be protected. "Regarding the issue of the Emilio Wilson Estate I can say that Government will do everything to ensure that the island’s cultural and environmental heritage is protected for the people and for future generations. Although there are things which are happening externally to Government, we will ensure that the protection of the heritage and environment of St. Maarten is ensured," commented the Prime Minister.
Parliamentarian Frans Richardson also made comments at the event and the various cultural and environmental organizations placed wreaths and flowers at Emilio Wilson’s statue. The event commemorated Emilio Wilson’s 101st Birthday.
