Teenager arrested as suspect in armed robbery

On Saturday November 19th at approximately 08.45 p.m. a Simpson bay police patrol was directed to Daily Extra Supermarket to investigate an armed robbery which took place shortly before. During this robbery armed the suspects used a handgun and a shotgun.

After com-mitting their act the suspects fled the scene in a small black vehicle. During a search of the area by the patrol, they encountered a small black vehicle with license plate 3232AAA971 in which a young man was sitting. When they checked the vehicle they found a loaded shotgun lying on the back seat. The suspect a fifteen year old boy with the initials K.D. from Sint Martin was arrested on the scene. The shotgun was confiscated for further investigation. The suspect was taken to the Philipsburg Police Station where he remains for further investigation.
