Central Committee to meet on special investigation methods

The Central Committee of Parliament Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 10.00am in the General Assembly Chamber of the House of Parliament.

The Court of Guardianship has been invited to give its input with respect to changes to the National Ordinance Book 1 of the Civil Code Joint Custody of Minors/Under-aged Children.

The parliamentary hearing is the first of several to be held during the coming weeks with respect to changes to the Civil Code. Parliament in a session of October 3 requested that other entities be heard with respect to the changes that are to be made to the Civil Code.

The Central Committee of Parliament will meet again at 2.00pm with Minister of Justice Hon. Roland Duncan.

The meeting will deal with changes to the Penal Code with respect to special investigation methods (monitoring equipment and infiltration) for law enforcement agencies.

The meeting will take place in the General Assembly Chamber in the House of Parliament.

The hearing and Central Committee meeting is open to the public and will be carried live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 20.
